I have had the flu all week and it has been a particularly nasty bout.
Compounding the problem I had surgery last week and have some pain associated with that. My arthritis has been acting up causing my hands to hurt and my knuckles and ankles to swell and lately my eyesight has become distinctively blurred. It is times like these that it is exceedingly difficult to be cheerful and optimistic. I don’t like to be in a foul and sour mood, so I turned to the Lord and asked for help this morning and better thoughts came to me.

I was thinking this morning what a glorious day it will be to one day receive our new “glorified” bodies. No more sickness, cancer, frailties.
Young folks cannot yet relate, but those of us who are moving away from the sunrise and towards the sunset understand. Our spirits are trapped in earthen vessels that are weak and as each tough mile is logged onto our bodies it becomes weaker and frail. Our bodies can only make it for an average of seventy or so years and then it gives way to release our spirits to God.

The good news is that God will then provide His children with new perfected and “glorified” bodies and we will be bathed in beauty, ageless, eternally young and strong. He will escort us down streets made of gold beside the crystal clear river of life to our new mansion that He has especially and lovingly prepared for us. We will be surrounded by fellow Christians and treated to a heavenly angelic choir singing in perfect harmony in an atmosphere of indescribable beauty completely devoid of sin and bathed in the love of Jesus Christ forever. We will dine on indescribable fruit from the “Tree of Life”. The Bible assures us that eye has not seen nor has an ear ever heard the marvels that await God’s children. Jesus promised: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Beautiful isn’t it? No small wonder that the Apostle Paul considered the tribulations and various aches and pains endured in this world to be inconsequential when compared to the glory and honor that awaits those who have remained faithful to Jesus; those who by faith have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. I feel better now!

How about you? Do you know the Lord as your personal Savior? If not, it is as easy as saying a simple prayer. Acknowledge to God that you realize that you are a sinner. Ask God to forgive you of your sins.
State your faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, and that you believe that He died for your sins on a cross at Calvary and was resurrected. Ask Him to come into your heart and life forever, and ask for His Holy Spirit to strengthen you and to help you to lead a life that will honor and glorify Jesus for the rest of your days on this earth…If you prayed that prayer with sincerity, you can be assured that your sins have been forgiven, and angels are rejoicing in heaven at this very moment over “your” personal decision. Now you can be counted among the children of God, (born again Christians), for all of eternity! Go to church this Sunday and confirm it and get plugged in with God’s wonderful people.
I’ll see you in paradise…

Rev. 21:12

“And behold I am coming

quickly and My reward is with Me

to give to every one according to

his work.

I am the Alpha and the Omega,

the Beginning and the End, the First

and the Last.”
