One of my all-time favorite books is the Creator and the Cosmos by Dr. Hugh Ross. I’ve bought dozens of copies through the years to give to my agnostic and atheist friends. Dr. Ross is a world famous astronomer, and physicist who once was an atheist himself, but after studying the Universe he became a Christian.

He is one scientist that instead of promoting that billions of years ago we were evolved from some mysterious glob of slime, he uses his vast knowledge of the Universe and incredible intellect to scientifically prove the existence of God and validity of the Bible.

It’s really a small world, because one of my good friends, movie producer Dr. Bryan Hickox, just got permission to utilize video content produced by Dr. Ross along with famous musician Phil Driscoll for the Jesus Alliance. They filmed an entire series of short two minute videos that will convince all but the most stubborn person that God created everything and that Scripture is correct.

So now I’m going to be afforded an opportunity to meet Dr. Ross and thank him for his work on a personal basis and showcase it to the world through the Jesus Alliance network.

It’s cool stuff to me. I’ve always loved the heavens and have studied the cosmos on an amateur level for many years. This morning I got up long before daylight and stared into the inky black sky and was simply amazed by the zillions of stars as I always am. I often think if my childhood had been normal, I might have majored in that field and gone on to a job where I could enjoy the hidden treasures that God has created on a daily/nightly basis.

I suppose God is allowing me this pleasure of being treated to the cumulative works of Dr. Ross as the next best thing. If you haven’t read this book I highly recommend it and also keep tuned in to the Jesus Alliance because as soon as we get them edited we will be sending them all over the world and you will be able to view Dr. Ross himself explaining the cosmos as it relates to the Creator.

Psalm 8:1

O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? You have made him a little lower than angels, And You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field, The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!
