Today our much anticipated Renewal of America Founders Forum begins. I met with many of the early arrivals last night and excitement is in the air. Everyone anticipates that the Lord is getting ready to do something BIG!
Speaking for the hardworking volunteers from our church, and the staff at Honey Lake it is very rewarding to see that all of our difficult work will culminate today in a spectacular meeting that I believe to be ordained by God.
Yesterday I was very stressed out, but today I’m calm. No doubt this peace is due to prayer. I’ve been able to release myself from the responsibility for the success of this event to God where it belongs.
I did this with my brother one time. Jim just would not listen to any talk of God and whenever I would encourage him to go to church, he would vehemently curse and ridicule me as being a Bible thumper and angrily hang-up the phone.
After one such encounter I was so shaken by the experience that I went back to my bedroom and got on my knees and told God that I was through. I’d done everything I could and I was turning Jim over to him. I tearfully said, “Lord Jim is your problem now I just don’t know what else to do”.
The next night Jim called me in tears completely broken and crying. He and his wife had a fight and she attempted suicide and narrowly missed succeeding. She told Jim from her hospital bed that she was leaving him. He’d already been married three times and viewed this as more than he could take mentally and he was beside himself as to what to do.
I consoled him and flew him to Atlanta and my pastor and I led him to the Lord the next day and he was wonderfully saved. A couple of weeks later, he, his wife reconciled and both of them along with his young son were all baptized together.
Hmmm . . .
I should have turned it over to God from the beginning and not tried to solve it on my own with my own intellect and logic. When I consciously prayed an intercessory prayer to God it was as if He was just waiting for the opportunity to intervene and He did.
If you have problems today, turn them over to the Lord. He sees our struggles from heaven and is eager to help. He is a true gentleman in every sense of the word and stands at the door and knocks and will not enter until asked. The Bible assures us if we will put our faith in God He enter our hearts and will be with us throughout eternity.
I asked for Him to take control of this meeting and give me and the other leaders the divine knowledge that is needed to ignite a fire that will sweep this nation and indeed the world with sorely needed revival. It’s in His capable hands this morning and I eagerly look forward to seeing what He will do with this project.
There used to be a bus line commercial with a message something like, “Sit back and relax – Go Greyhound and leave the driving to us!”
Gladly!
We need to put our faith in Him. I’m going to step into the water and maintain complete faith throughout this conference and hopefully far beyond. How about you?
Check out some of the lyrics to this all-time favorite gospel song
Step into the water,
wade out a little bit deeper.
Wet your feet in the water of his love.
Ohh Step into the water (children)
Wade out a little bit deeper,
come join angels singin’,
praises to the Lamb of God.
It’s time we the people,
stand up for what is right.
It’s time we squared our shoulders back,
and raised our swords to fight.
For the Bible is our weapon,
and the spirit is my shield.
The church needs more of its members to be workers in the field.
Step into the water,
wade out a little bit deeper. (A little deeper)
Wet your feet in the water of his love.
Ohh Step into the water (children)
Wade out a little bit deeper,
come join angels singin’,
praises to the Lamb of God.
To the lamb of God.
Matthew 14:30
And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” . . .
