I’d like to thank everyone for their prayers and contributions to the Renewal of America Founder’s Forum. I was prompted yesterday to summarize our goals, so I did.

Here’s what success would look like:

  • Sign up as many Christians as possible into a Coalition of Believers – (Goal 100 million united – minimum)
  • Utilize the Believer’s Coalition to:
  1. Effect positive change in America by leveraging our vast membership to make badly needed improvements to our culture; (business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, family, religion and their subgroups).
  2. Effect positive change in America by mobilizing our vast membership to pray for our country 24/7
  3. Mobilize and encourage the coalition to accomplish God’s charitable works all over America and therein enhance the brand of Christianity and counteract negative images about Christians in media and entertainment with positive stories of redemption and good deeds.
  4. Mobilize the coalition to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ available to every person on earth; disciple new believers in every nation; connect them to local churches and Christian communities.
  5. Communicate positive news to Christians and non-Christians making them aware of all of the encouraging things around the world being accomplished by various ministries.
  6. Form strategic alliances with all ministries and encourage and facilitate their collaboration in working together as a team instead of in individual silos.
  7. Build a Christian knowledge base, (a Library of Hope) that can be utilized to assist believers by establishing best practices for similar ministries, sharing resources, provide access to research, identify various ministries and their various callings, provide practical solutions to common problems faced by Christians such as providing encouraging and inspiring testimonies of real people who’ve faced real problems and overcome them through Jesus Christ.
  8. Have a sustainable financial model that will finance the program and a successor plan that will perpetuate beyond the original founders.
  9. Be a catalyst for problem solving in our nation.
  10. Instill hope in every American.

So will we succeed?

Hmmm . . .

I don’t know. I’ve tried to listen to the Father and feel I’ve done the very best I can and am content to let it play out and see what God does going forward. If the project doesn’t get off the ground, I’ll not be bitter or brokenhearted, but chalk it up to my misreading what God desired.

At the end of the day it’s not about me, nor do I want it to be. I didn’t choose to do this and there is no selfish reward forthcoming; I believe God chose me to raise this issue and it is He that put it on my heart.

I’ve put it a lot of hard work into it and I’ve already received much criticism from many quarters. Don’t know how to read that other than perhaps my vision is not the correct one, or maybe it’s satanic attack to discourage me, but if nothing else, at least people are thinking and talking about this problem of divisiveness in the faith based community and most understand that we can accomplish far more by being united rather than divided.

Last night I was on an hour long program and I described what I’m attempting to do with the Forum. One of the listeners, (an Australian), called in. This morning I received a follow-up e-mail from her and she described her “calling” and in part here is some of what she wrote:

“I had lost hope for the very thing that the Lord has commissioned me to do! There has been a lot of rejection, abuse and doors slamming shut in my life! I knew I had heard from the Lord, but I had no way of expressing this to others that had their own agenda. All I knew is the Lord had spoken to me and I had a fire in my belly to see things shift in people’s lives!

As you spoke about the Lord lifting His hand  tonight, I thought God had literally lifted His hand from me! I have been commissioned by the Lord in the Entertainment Industry there in the U.S. The enemy has been on the attack!

I do want to restore people’s faith in the Lord! I have a real passion to help the Lord to take the Media, Arts and Entertainment Mountain back from the enemy! Bob, you are right, We can accomplish great things for the Lord in unity for the great commission!

Looking at things the way they are at the moment, seems like a world away from the heavenly reality that I long to reside in! I constantly grieve when I can’t do things for those in need on a practical level!  . . . I am finding it hard to keep taking hits and keep getting back up!

I have been a watchman on the wall for many ministries, and sometimes I do wonder, “God where are you”? “Is it my turn yet”? Nonetheless, I will praise Him in the hallway!!!

I don’t find this to be about me, It is the Lord’s love that compels me to continue to love others! “Thank You Jesus!”

She asked me for advice, but I’m in the same situation. My only suggestion is to keep on praying and try not to get discouraged by all of the naysayers. One thing dead certain, God loves all of those who sincerely try to discern His will in order to accomplish great things for His kingdom. Imagine the tragedy of waking up at the end of a self-centered and meaningless life and realizing that it’s too late to attempt anything now.

I believe that when you feel you’ve received direction that you must take action, regardless of the consequences, and do so without fear. I say let the wolves howl and enjoy their mournful song; they’re just frustrated because they can’t find anything to kill.

When David Livingstone was asked if he didn’t fear that going into Africa was too difficult and too dangerous, he answered, “I am immortal until the will of God for me is accomplished.” Martin Luther reflects my sentiment even more precisely: If it were in the will of God, I’d plant an oak tree today, even if Christ were coming tomorrow. Just do as your told and don’t worry about the small stuff is my clumsy way of putting it. Martin Luther is far more eloquent.

So how do I know He wants me to plant that tree? Wouldn’t it be nice if He just appeared and said, “Come on over here my son, I want you to plant an oak tree right here . . .”

Ahhh . . . but He doesn’t. He wants us to sort it out. Don’t know the reason but it’s a perfect one. I believe that we should just keep praying and working and quit worrying about it.

This all-out commitment and humble dependence upon God is the basis for what the Old Testament calls “the fear of the Lord.” When a person pursues this kind of relationship with Him, direction will eventually come.

Have a great weekend and go to Honey Lake Church, or somewhere this weekend!

Psalm 25:12

“Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose”
