It’s hard to believe, but I’m nearing completion of my new book. I estimate that I will complete it within approximately six to eight weeks. Then it’s off to the copy editor, typesetter, and printer and I’m hopeful it’s on the bookshelves just in time for Christmas. By the time I finish it, all told I will have worked on it for just about a year and a half.
It’s a Bible-based fictional account of how the last and final prophecy prior to the antichrist taking control of the world is fulfilled. It’s been interesting to go back and review Biblical prophecy concerning the “Latter Days” as they are referred to in the Bible.
It’s been fascinating to me to see it unfold before my eyes; many prophecies have recently been fulfilled and more are occurring on a daily basis. There is no question in my mind that we are living in those final days now, and very little needs to be accomplished before the “End”.
God’s prophets and Jesus revealed numerous prophecies that had to be fulfilled prior to the “End”, but this particular prophecy that my book is written about, (preaching the word of God to every nation), is the final prophecy and its fulfillment is the trigger for the beginning of the “End”.
“And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the End come.” – Matthew 24:14
In my book three men work diligently to enable every person on earth to hear the word of God while satan fights them every step of the way. They are determined to succeed and devise an incredible plan to outwit satan and accomplish their goals. While this is a fictional book, the saga that unfolds around them is startlingly true.
Unfortunately many people do not understand how close we are to the “End”. This nonchalant, unsuspecting, unprepared attitude has been predicted in the Bible too. The Bible states that just as in the days of Noah, folks will be conducting business as usual, eating, drinking, and partying down as though the tomorrows will always continue to come, but unfortunately for them just like the people of Noah’s day they will be caught unawares and swept away too.
One reason I think that folks are nonchalant about it is that they have not taken time to study Bible prophecy in the Bible. Many who have tried got discouraged because much of biblical prophecy is exceedingly difficult to understand. I’m not a theological professor, but I can read and comprehend fairly well and I have written about what I’ve learned in my study and presented it in this book in what I hope is an interesting, exciting, and easily understandable format. I suppose time will tell if I have succeeded or failed in that effort. Either way it has been fun to allow my mind to roam and write it.
I chose this subject because it’s so important. When asked when He would return Jesus said that no one but the Father knows the exact time, but we can tell that it is drawing near by observing the “signs of the times” He went on to say that wars, famines, plagues and earthquakes were just the “beginning of sorrows.”
In the book I enumerate many of the “signs” of which He and others spoke about and I compare them to modern day events. My conclusion is that we have moved beyond the “beginning of sorrows” and are very close to the “End”. Soon the antichrist will take control of the entire world and the horror of the tribulation will begin to unfold.
Make no mistake the preaching of the Gospel to every nation has already begun and I urgently want to be as big a part of that endeavor as the Lord will permit and indeed that is the purpose for founding our Worldwide Ministry. The Bible states that we will “receive the power of the Holy Spirit as we become messengers for Him”.
Uh Huh – Uh Huh! I like that very much!
At meetings in Orlando, FL organized by the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College, it was announced that the world could be only 10 or 15 years away from seeing the Great Commission fulfilled. In other words, it is possible that every people group on earth will have had the gospel preached to them and some portion of Scripture translated into their language.
To hear this announcement was astounding. Never in the entire course of history has the Gospel been preached in the entire world to all nations as it is right now! Every nation on the face of the earth will soon hear the Gospel, so unless Jesus was a liar and the Bible untrue, we are now living in a world that is rapidly approaching its End! And that means Jesus is coming back soon and we’re getting outta here.
Hoo-Rah!
Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday! (BTW – I’ll be giving my testimony at the morning service at Fellowship Baptist Church in Tallahassee on Sunday.)
Acts 1:6
Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
