God works in mysterious ways

My son and I were talking yesterday and he was asking me why there were no modern day revelations coming down from God. I told him, “Oh but there are”. Something I have found fascinating is that the word of God is being spread in countries where one can receive the death penalty just for owning a Bible, often by direct revelation of God. Missionaries throughout the world are reporting this phenomenon in record numbers, especially in isolated and remote societies. Jesus is directly appearing to various tribal elders and others in the form of dreams and visions and miracles are occurring routinely all over the globe.

A friend of mine recently gave me an article about a missionary who traveled to extremely remote areas of Ethiopia and found people that Jesus had appeared to in just such a manner and he found that they had been expecting him to come and teach them about Jesus. Missionaries are reporting finding isolated tribes in Africa, the Mideast countries like Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan and elsewhere that have experienced this phenomenon.

Here in this country we do not hear much about it. Do you know which nation is one of the fastest growing Christian nations in the world? Communist China. Who would have “thunk” it?

But according to China Aid, a Texas-based human rights group, the number of Christians in China has increased 100-fold since 1949. Current estimates range from 80 million to 130 million active members. (Hmmm I wonder how many Christians are in the United States??? They may lead us in that too before much longer) One startling estimate from a Chinese Christian businessman has that number doubling or even tripling in the next generation.

The Bible declares that in the Last Days that the word of God will be spread all over the world and every person will hear it and there will be a huge revival. I wonder if it is happening now? I’ve always mused about how those in the world’s most closed and /or remote societies might hear about Jesus and I didn’t even think of direct revelation of God and His appearing to people in dreams and visions as one of God’s resources to reach the lost. But as always I stand amazed at God’s incredible intellect and my lack of one.

Are you doing anything to spread the word of God? Do you witness, donate your time or money? Time is getting short. The rewards are great. Just imagine that you are the one who plants the seed that blossoms into turning someone away from everlasting hell. We have all been charged with the responsibility of spreading the Gospel. Here in the United States, at least for now, we are free to speak to anyone about Christ. How long since you have done so? Have you EVER witnessed to anyone?
