I spoke with someone yesterday in regard to developing a marketing plan for my book. She told me that the main thing that my story offers is hope and that my main theme should be that my book offers “hope for the hopeless”.

She told me something that I found a little hard to believe, but recognizing her credentials as a leading expert in this field, I was hesitant to question her statistics. She stated that 82% of people in America have lost hope, and that includes those who express faith in God and attend church. She said that some have lost hope in their marriage, their job, their country, their children, and a host of other things, but she told me that I need to understand that there is widespread hopelessness in the world at large.

I found the part about those who believe in God and attend church as having lost hope to be astonishing. Most people define hope as an expectation or anticipation of things to come, “I hope something will occur”. The Bible makes it clear that hope is not merely wishful thinking rather a fundamental expectation of the Christian. Proverbs 23:18, “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off”.

Christ has told us that He will be with us ALWAYS even unto the end of the world and beyond throughout eternity and that nothing, not powers in high places or powers in low places, or anything else can ever take us away from Him. He will NEVER desert us plain and simple. How can anyone lose hope when they know that?

I assume they do not put their faith in the Bible or believe it????

The Bible is filled with assurances and if we believe the Bible to be the inerrant holy word of God almighty then we should all be free from anxiety and fear. We need to read the Bible and stay close to it. Those who put their trust and faith in Christ will see Christ exalted in life and in death and therein can be found all the hope that anyone could wish for.

If you are in that large majority today that has lost hope in any area of your life, I urge you to turn to Christ and do as I have done and put your trust, and faith in Him, and there you will find all of the hope that you need. I think that if someone has not done that, and is trying to make it through this world using their own wiles instead of wholeheartedly putting their faith and trust in Christ then there should be cause for concern because there is no hope.

The main thing I’ve learned in life is that apart from Christ I am nothing and can achieve nothing; however, “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me”. Please pardon the clich but “Hope springs eternal” through Christ, (please make a note of it)

Romans 8:23
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
