Yesterday I wrote about playing a prank on a buddy of mine and a couple of readers got uptight about it and wrote to tell me what a boor I am for doing such a dastardly deed.
Well pooh pooh pee doo, ex-c-u-u-u-se me for living will you
I think more people should just lighten up already. If you want to vent, do it like me, aim it towards Obama and the free spending Democrats who are wrecking our economy, legalizing gay marriage and abortion, and allowing people to walk across our border at will. There are plenty of things to be mad about aside from little old me and the latest WFTD.
I once wrote in WFTD about being stuck behind a cyclist who was driving right down the middle of the road and holding up traffic for miles in the pouring down rain in downtown Atlanta rush hour traffic. I finally squeezed by him and when I did I saw a huge puddle of water. I veered over and deliberately sprayed him with a huge wall of water that nearly knocked him off his bicycle. I laughed hysterically as I glanced back at him in my rear view mirror and saw his glasses sideways on his face from the drenching.
I gloated over my revenge in WFTD, but many subscribers unsubscribed and let me know that they were unhappy with my insensitivity and poor Christian behavior. One asked me to remove all Christian emblems from the back of my car so I wouldn’t be an embarrassment to the “Christian nation”. Jeez Get a life, will ya? (I didn’t have any Christian emblems.)
Alas I’m not perfect and I admit that sometimes I have a weird sense of humor, (but at least I have one). This morning I got up around three AM and walked outside to head over to my office and I looked up and the sky was just beautiful with jillions of stars twinkling against their black velvet backdrop. I thought that it’s a shame that so many people live in the city and do not ever get to see the awesome beauty that God has created. The big city lights just drown it all out.
I think that many folks in life miss out on a lot of things and their joy is drowned out by the big city Mo-Jo. Lighten up today and enjoy what you have, and see, and do. Dare I say it? Go out and have some fun. Pull a prank on a buddy. Laugh a little, and revere God. No need to worry there will be plenty of time left over for unmitigated anger, and tears
Eccl 3:1
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toilthis is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
Lighten your load
