I’m really gaining momentum with my new book. It is exciting to see it heading towards its conclusion. My motivation to write it was pure and simple, I wanted to help others. I felt that it might offer hope that no matter how bad the circumstance or situation that we might find ourselves, with God’s help, we can rise up and conquer. The bottom line: If I could escape satan’s grip and find peace and happiness, anyone can.

While I do think the book will accomplish its goal and provide that much needed hope and inspiration to countless people, I was gratified that I accomplished another purpose with it as well. This one was not a stated goal, and indeed was an unplanned but much appreciated benefit and blessing for me personally.

Writing this book has given me new perspective of just how active God is in our personal lives and after chronicling events from my early childhood up through today, I have come to the undeniable conclusion that God is far more active in my life than I ever imagined. I just did not take note of it as often as I should have, but after looking back on it for the past year as I labored daily over this book recounting event after event, His undeniable presence became readily evident. He was ALWAYS there working behind the scenes to help shape and mold me.

Einstein was initially an atheist, but the more he studied the Universe the more he became convinced that there was just too much mathematical order and precision in it to be some random event and he concluded that there had to be a higher being that created all that we know. He accepted the notion that God exists but never did come to the conclusion that God was a personal God who dealt with our daily lives.

Einstein may have been right about a lot of things, but he was wrong on that one. As you will see when you read my book, I have documented God’s unmistakable intervention countless times in my life. I strongly urge you to review your life and maybe write your own memoir. Look for God’s hand on your life from the time you were a small child right up until today as you write, and no doubt you will see it and it will strengthen your faith enormously.

I tell you brothers and sisters it has strengthened me beyond measure. How nice to know that God is with me every minute of every day. He understands my weaknesses and shows me how to overcome the temptation that awaits me around every corner. I may falter, but He never gives up on me, and as time has whizzed by and my life has now moved into the ninth inning, today I find myself a changed person.

I will never reach perfection in this life or in this world, but I have definitely changed for the better just as God promised in Philippians 4:13 nearly forty years ago now when He assured me that I could all things through His Son Jesus Christ who strengthens me. The thing I wanted to do the most in my life when I read that verse was to *change* my life, and through God’s help I have achieved that goal. Without God’s help I would be dead and suffering in Hell by now. Whew! I shudder to think about it. Praise God and thank you Jesus!

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
