A pair of bald eagles have been visiting my fishing pond in the last couple of weeks. They circle high above it and when they spot a fish with their keen eyes they swoop down at blazing speed and most of the time procure breakfast. It is fascinating to watch them hunting. They are truly one of God’s most efficient creatures.

Their brains are miniscule in size and reasoning capability when compared to ours. But they serve the purpose God intended for them. He didn’t design them to be mini Einsteins, I feel He just wanted to demonstrate His glory. One must admit they are strikingly beautiful with white head and tail. God went overboard when He designed their color scheme. They also are designed for capturing the small animals and fish. Once they clamp down on something with their vice-like razor sharp claws, it is a foregone conclusion that he will soon be devoured. I cannot help but wonder if bald eagles will inhabit heaven. I believe they will. I imagine their desire for flesh will be gone. Hmmm vegan bald eagles, won’t that be something to behold?

God has many surprises that He has prepared for us at His home in heaven. I imagine it to be akin to a beautiful estate adorned with art of every description. As we walk room to room we find fascinating and unique pieces everywhere we look. I for one want to enjoy and see as many of them as possible and it will probably take eternity to do it.

God is love and heaven is our reward for leading a righteous life and loving Him. The older I get the more I understand this simple concept. God’s love is powerful but so is the call to sin. We must decide which way we want to go. Choose sin and take what it will give us while we are down here on this earth and then be doomed to hell forever. Or as for me and my family, we choose God and are prepared to live righteous lives as best we know and enjoy the fruits of our labor forever with our loving Father.

Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
