The Bible is clear on what to look for concerning what will give us forewarning of the approach of the end of time. There will be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, famine, pestilence and other natural disasters such as the world has never seen; perhaps similar to the constant wars being fought in Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, (including genocide), and elsewhere, earthquakes such as the ones in Pakistan and Iraq that just killed one hundred thousand people, the unprecedented amount of hurricanes, and the current threat of a pandemic from the bird flu and of course the millions around the world dying from AIDS; and then there is starvation of millions throughout Africa and other places in the world like North Korea. According to Jesus the world will also become more and more evil towards the last days. Some believe we are living in those last days now, others do not.

Regardless of one’s viewpoint on this subject, they should live each day as it might be their last. Jesus is the one who instructed us to do that. Lately I have been getting up each morning determined that I would treat everyone as I would like to be treated. To me that is essential to living a Christian life. Some days have been more successful than others and yes as many of you would no doubt eagerly point out, I have failed in my mission more than I care to admit. I am trying however, and I am determined to keep improving in hopes of ultimately achieving my goal.

I have found that in order to achieve a goal, one must work towards it every day. I often put written reminders where I know that I will look each day first thing in the morning just to ensure that I think about that goal at the start of my day. I also write it on a business card or something and put it on my computer or near the telephone to remind me throughout the day. As my day unfolds and the pressures of life and my job take their toll, I sometimes fail, but at least I start out with the right attitude and the reminders help get me back on course when I swerve.

It is helpful to have other Christian brothers and sisters to encourage you. It is important to find a good church and to become a part of it.
Friends can be a great encouragement. One day the end will come suddenly and without warning. We do not know the exact time, but we have been given signs to warn us when it is eminent. It reminds me of an earthquake, we know there are huge faults beneath the surface of the earth and that they are conducive to an earthquake occurring; however no-one knows for sure exactly when it will occur. When certain conditions occur, and seismographs needles begin to quiver, scientists know that it could happen at any minute. I believe we are at that point now and it is all the more important to live each day to the best of our ability. The Lord might hold off for another 1000 years, or He might come today. Be prepared!

Hebrews 10:24, 30

And let us consider one another

in order to stir up love and good

works,

Not forsaking the assembling of

ourselves together as is the manner

of some, but exhorting one another,

And so much the more as you see

the Day approaching…

For we know Him who said,

“Vengeance is Mine I will repay”,

Says the Lord. And again, “The

Lord will judge His people.”

It is a fearful thing to fall into

The hands of the living God.
