Try it you will like it!

Lately I have been involved in a couple of Christian based activities that were put together by a couple of my friends. I was asked to assist and did, and things turned out well. It really makes me feel good to be a part of something that hopefully will ultimately help to bring lost souls to God’s kingdom and will glorify Him.



Most of my time is spent working to further my own business interests or for my personal interests. I can tell you that without question it is far more rewarding doing the Lord’s work. I intend to find a project of my own in the very near future and am actively racking my brain now for something spectacular. We should all be working diligently to further the interests of the Lord. There are many needs and few resources.
Anyone can participate and with a little thought you should be able to find a way to do something using your own interests to advantage for the Lord. One can actually have fun doing it. This Saturday I plan to attend a barbeque complete with blue grass music where there will be an auction of donated items with all proceeds going to a Christian based home for disadvantaged teenage girls. The wife of one of my buddies is putting it on and it is anticipated that it will raise a large sum of money for this worthy cause and the participants will have great fun too – a win-win situation.



I have been thinking of putting a fishing tournament together in the Keys and letting the proceeds go to the building fund for our little church. I know several people who would help me, (with a little arm twisting), and I hope that perhaps it will become an annual event that will provide some revenue for our church for years to come. I don’t care who you are and what your interests might be, you can contribute to your Lord. Even if you put together a neighborhood yard sale with some friends and use the proceeds to help someone in need or the cause of your choice. Many people at Horizon do all kinds of things for others.
I am willing to bet that every person involved with putting one of these events together or even in just assisting someone else put one on will tell you that it is one of the most rewarding things they have been a part of in a long while. Try it you will like it!
