I have noticed that when I get dressed in the morning that if I have trouble tying my tie, I end up having a bad day. I call them “bad tie days”. I know this sounds crazy, but it never fails. When my tie comes up too short, or too long, or the knot looks funky, I sigh because I know I’m in for it. Sometimes I have to retie it several times. I have been tying ties now for quite some time and you would think that I could get it perfect. Such is not always the case. Probably one day out of five will be a “bad tie day”. On “bad tie days” from the time I walk out of the door until I go to sleep at night, things go wrong. (Some of these women’s lippers that want to dress like men and wear ties, should beware because they do not know what they are getting in for, “bad tie days” are no fun.)
I was thinking about this phenomenon this morning and I decided that the tie may really not have anything to do with it. Perhaps it is really just my attitude. I can start off my day grumpy and expect the worse, or I can be happy and optimistic, the choice is mine. I would rather be happy, than grumpy. I would rather have my day go good, than bad, and my attitude, (not my tie) will determine it.
I am now convinced that my attitude has more to do with having a good day, than a stupid tie that will not cooperate and cannot be tied correctly without FIFTEEN TRIES!! How can I have a good attitude when I
get mad just thinking about it?

But by sorrow of the heart the
