Recently I have been blessed enormously. Hardly a day goes by without something wonderful happening to either our company and/or my family.
It never ceases to amaze me how God pours out “undeserved’ blessing after blessing. His love for us is boundless. I got to thinking about what I have done to reciprocate and I am rather ashamed. I’m probably like most people in that I would really like to do something more for God, but I haven’t found anything specific and therefore do very little aside from contributing financially. There is so much of God’s work that needs to be done, that I cannot plead the case that I could not find something to do, if I really expended some energy. If I worked even 1/10th as hard as I do working for Horizon, I’m sure that plenty of God’s important work could be accomplished.
I have decided to see if there are others like me, and if so, form a “team”, find something to do, and do it! Yes we are all inundated with work and it will have to be done using some of our precious spare time.
If we all join together and each person will contribute something, we can and will achieve something great for the Lord. I am asking the Christian men of Horizon and perhaps others who may be reading this to join me in finding something that we can do for God. If anyone is aware of some important work that we could do for God and/or if you would like to join me in accomplishing something for God, please e-mail me with your suggestions. If you do not have a suggestion, but would like to be a part of it, send me an e-mail also. Sometime soon we will have an after hours meeting about it and try to implement a plan of action. I do not want to unduly influence the direction that we take, however, keep in mind that our professional strengths are in computer technology and marketing. Perhaps we can do something whereby we take advantage of our knowledge of these far-reaching mediums. Perhaps not, there are always the sick, the poor, the disadvantaged, the lost, the list of those who need a helping hand from concerned Christians is endless!
Joining Habitat for Humanity, becoming a “Big Brother” to a lonely child, paying an electric bill for some widow, helping the homeless, visiting prisoners on weekends and sharing the gospel, making a wish come true for a cancer victim, taking a child to church that otherwise would not have the opportunity, the list is long. Remember that Jesus said that anytime we help someone like I just described, we are doing it for Him.
What about the Christian women of Horizon and others reading this? I suggest that you form a group too. Anyone interested in forming and perhaps being a leader of a ladies group, e-mail me and I will assist in getting your message out to see if there are other interested parties.
God commands us to spread the good word. If we truly have faith in Him, we will have some “works” to back it up. Personally I think we should do it because we love Him and if we love Him we will have an interest in helping those around us.

James 2:18
But someone will say, “You have
faith, and I have works.” Show me
your faith without your works,
and I will show you my faith by
my works.
You believe that there is one God.
You do well. Even the demons
believe – and tremble!
But do you want to know, O foolish
man, that faith without works is
dead?
