It has been interesting to see the generosity of the American people in the wake of our recent tragedy. People are giving blood, donations of money, clothes and food, and are donating their time to help others.
The amount donated so far is unprecedented and is, in my opinion, one reason why God has blessed this great nation as He has. We are a generous nation. The Bible has much to say about this subject. God actually states that we are helping Him when we help others. During times of uncertainty, some people go into a survivalist type of mentality whereby they try to hoard every nickel in case times get worse. God instructs us not to do this, rather we should be generous and if we follow His instructions, we will be blessed. I often wonder if God were in my exact same position, what He would do, (exactly), to help those affected by the terrorist attacks. If He were in “your”
shoes, what would He do to help others during this time of need? It would be nice if He would pay a visit to our home or office and drop off a detailed list of what He wants us to do to help out with this crisis.
Unfortunately God does not micro-manage us and He leaves it up to us as to how we should help out all of these suffering families. We must ask Him through prayer what He would like for us to do and try to discern His gentle voice as He lays upon our heart what He would have us do.

There are many children who have been stripped of a daddy or a mommy.
There are many families that no longer have a bread winner. Relief organizations are having to spend millions and millions of dollars to provide relief to the victims. There is tremendous need. I have no doubt that Jesus would be very generous in helping anyone and everyone that He could. We should do our best to emulate Him. Pray about it and then follow-up with action! Be generous.
