I went to church Sunday and was disappointed with the turnout. The weekend after the terrorist attack we could barely accommodate another person. By contrast this week’s attendance was pretty much back to normal with quite a few seats available. The only good I could see that came out of the terrible disaster was that everyone’s fear and uncertainty, initially seemed to turn many people to God that otherwise would not have given Him two seconds thought. I would imagine that more prayer has been offered since the tragedy than at any other time in history.
The Bible teaches that the end times will come like a woman having birth pangs. As we all know birth pangs, or contractions, start off slow, but increase in frequency right up until birth. I would expect that more tragedy will be forthcoming in increasing frequency? We were told to watch for wars and rumors of war, earthquakes, increased disease, famine and strange occurrences in the heavens. That is happening, and as these disastrous events occur, there will be a worldwide revival. It is predicted in the Bible that many people will turn to God as we head for the final days of tribulation and then the end of this world as we know it.
The Bible tells us to be ready. Unfortunately as we move back to some semblance of order, people begin to put God on a back-burner once again.
The Bible warns us not to let the cares of this world drag us down.
Christ will pull his church out of this world prior to the worst of what is to come. Studying the Bible and believing the horror that is in store for those who are left behind and do not make that event should scare everyone into church every time the doors are open.
Do you think that this is all far-fetched? All of this was foretold many years ago. The Bible teaches that the last days will be a time of great learning and travel will be greatly increased. We are there now.
Who would have ever imagined that a little tiny, almost primitive country located half way around the world could turn our “powerful”
country and in fact the “entire world” upside down in the blinking of an eye? As fast as the greatest star athlete upon which we all put our Super Bowl hopes can blow out a knee and be out for the season, this world can be turned upside down. The people in the days of Noah found out that God’s Word is true as the flood that had been foretold swallowed them up, the mighty pharaoh found out the hard way that God’s Word will not be mocked, as did the people in Sodom and Gomorrah and the “chosen people” the Jews learned the hard way when the unthinkable happened and their mighty civilization and temple were destroyed just as Jesus predicted that it would occur. It was all so unthinkable at the time. It was not unthinkable to those who loved God and believed His Word.
We haven’t learned much as a civilization in the past few thousand years. We still have scoffers and stubborn, stiff-necked people. If only they would believe, but they do not. More people do not believe in Jesus Christ than do. That is predicted in the Bible too. It does not change the unalterable fact that there is only one way to reach God and that is through His Son Jesus Christ who paid a sacrifice by willingly giving His life on a cross as payment for our sins that we might live.
Jesus was resurrected and is alive. The Bible states that He stands at the door and knocks and will come into your heart as soon as you will let him. Let today be the day, for tomorrow may never come, (literally).

Matt.7:13
Enter by the narrow gate; for
wide is the gate and broad is the way
that leads to destruction, and there
are many who go by in it.
Because narrow is the gate and
difficult the way which leads to
life, and there are few who find it.
