Last night I was walking up the steps to my new home in the back yard and I saw the full moon rising and reflecting the sun to make it appear orange.

I thought about all of the times I had been frustrated, exasperated, irritated, and downright enraged while building the house and one look at that rising moon made it all worthwhile.

I stood on the balcony just admiring God’s creation and His handiwork for quite some time. It’s interesting how much easier it is to pray when viewing His glory. I thought about how fitting it was to view His magnificence and glory on Palm Sunday of all days.

After His entrance into Jerusalem where He was hailed as a King at first but soon enough, He underwent the most intense suffering ever endured by anyone at any time. Jesus endured His tremendous suffering at the hands of evil men for one reason, to save the world.

As we go through this week and throughout the years, we should never forget the price paid by Jesus for your soul and mine. At the end during his resurrection Jesus ascended to heaven where He resides now. He is in paradise.

Today, or tomorrow, or in the future, you will endure trying times. Just remember that there is a full moon rising and a gorgeous sunrise ahead. Ours is a temporary condition and even those nuts in Washington D.C. can’t ruin your day, that is unless you take your eyes off Jesus.

My friend and famed king of the high wire, Tino Wallenda, of the famous Flying Wallendas was once performing inside a prison on a high wire. I will never forget as he performed for the inmates how he told them that the key to not falling was to focus on where you were going. He said that if you take your eye off it just for a second you could lose your balance and fall to your death. “The same goes for keeping your eye on Jesus,” he said. “Take your eye off Him and you will experience a fall.” Focus on Jesus through your trials and reap the rewards He has prepared for you.

Psalm 112:7
“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”
