Covid seems to be defying the world as it continues to wreak destruction and wage war against humanity and just this week it hit close to home twice. I got news this morning that one of my former longtime loyal employees and friend Steve Davis, died of Covid yesterday. To my knowledge Steve was healthy and he wasn’t anywhere near old age, but Covid dealt harshly with him. He left behind his wife and five kids who are devastated. I am saddened by his loss but while he was still my employee Steve and I had many conversations about Jesus and His gift of salvation, and I attempted to answer many questions that he posed in that regard. I’m convinced Steve loved Jesus and in fact is now with Him in paradise.
I’m very happy we had those conversations.
I’ve spoken with many Christian friends who are highly reluctant or refuse altogether to share their testimony. When I encourage them to do so, their primary response is that salvation is a private matter between each of us and God. That is just Satan filling their minds with untruths in order to gain another soul for hell. The Bible is vividly clear that we are to witness to others at every opportunity and to deny it would show a complete lack of knowledge of the Bible, or worse, defiance of God’s commands.
In spite of Steve’s glorious promotion, his wife and young family will need to go through the very difficult grieving process, and I prayed for the Holy Spirit to draw close to each of them and fill them with His comfort this morning and to let them know that their separation is temporary as only He can do.

If you are one of those who is throwing caution to the wind and ignoring Covid precautions and think you are invincible then you should think again. Covid is real and people are dying from it all over the world. Do what you can to keep from getting it including those of you who think you are too special to get it.
Yesterday my wife got up at 5:00 a.m. to enter a lottery for vaccinations that would be conducted at 6:00 a.m. She went to the website on her iPad, Cell phone, and laptop and one of my sons as well as a friend were logged on from their homes and all were trying to secure an appointment but as they watched the 326 available doses for Monroe County all went to other people. We will keep trying.
Please join me in saying a prayer for Steve’s family this morning. And do remember your lost friends and talk to them about Jesus and the love Jesus has for them. And pray for them!
Romans 8:38
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord . . .
