My wife and I were scheduled to get our Covid vaccines, but after scheduling us to get them, they ran out of vaccine and told us they would call us and NOT to call them. You gotta love the government bureaucracy – NOT!
Like most things lately I just try to take it in stride. Some are more difficult to take than others. i.e. The nation’s new President is busily tearing apart our nation and is being hailed as a hero for restoring abortion funding for Mexico.
I cannot conceive of many things worse than the abortion policy of the Democrats. I pray that God will punish those who are responsible for so many deaths of innocent children. Those of you who voted for Biden should be on your knees begging forgiveness for enabling this evil to flourish. I suspect that it is just the tip of the iceberg being struck by a doomed ship and that my friends is an apt description of the policies that will severely wound our nation if not sink her entirely.
Well so much for politics. Hopefully being retired and living way down here in the Florida Keys we can escape the brunt of the darkness and debauchery that has begun to sweep our land.
The beauty of this place is a reminder that God created this little blue marble and hung it in outer space for us to enjoy and have fellowship with Him. I often think of God walking in the evening through the Garden of Eden with Adam. I try to envision what they talked about as they strolled through that unspoiled paradise.
Of course sin came along and changed everything. The Garden of Eden has long since disappeared from the face of the earth, but little reminders of what it must have been like still abound. Down here I see it out on the ocean when porpoises surround my boat and swim along crisscrossing in front of it as we speed through the cobalt blue waters. I see it when I observe a flock of flamingos walking across the crystal clear flats with pelicans dive bombing for their meals.
Sunrises and sunsets are perhaps the best reminders and down here they are just gorgeous. Can anyone legitimately look at such a sight and deny the existence of God?

I don’t know about you, but I prefer to focus on such things instead of the carnage facing our nation. I do what I can as an individual, but I know that the problems of this world are far larger than my capacity to address them. My great friend Bill Glass, founder of The Bill Glass Behind the Walls prison ministry which has led over a million inmates to give their hearts to Jesus, wrote a whimsical letter to me yesterday offering a solution:
Dear Bob – I agree with your essay on the present world situation totally. I suggest you run for president. Would you like me to be your campaign manager? I am certain that we would both do a great job but we have started too late.
God will have to raise up two younger people who are equally talented and have the fire in their belly. But I really doubt that such fabulous people exist. So I guess we will just have to stumble along with what we have. 🙂
I wrote him back that I would have to be the water boy and he is the one should run for President. I got a chuckle from his tongue and cheek remarks but can hardly bear the thought of stumbling along with what we have. Actually I see no hope for fair and honest politicians to lead our country. It will take Jesus to lead it or a mighty miracle of God for an ordinary man to clean out that snake pit.
The good news is we have reminders everywhere of God’s glory and a small glimpse of what we will enjoy forever. Make the most of God’s wonderful planet and don’t focus on evil which will be destroyed along with those who follow the nasty road to hell.
Jesus made it clear: the path to eternal life is open to everyone who asks. However, the gate to heaven is “narrow” in the sense of having a particular requirement for entrance — faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is found only in the Person of Jesus Christ; He is the only way. The “wide” gate is non-exclusive; it allows for human effort and all other of the world’s religions and there are many who are plodding along towards condemnation and judgment for rejecting the only Son of God and all of the love and goodness that he represents.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
