Well the election is finally upon us. It is sad to me to see businesses in cities all over the United States boarding up their windows and doors in anticipation of rioting and looting. But seeing a climb proof fence being erected around the Whitehouse is beyond the pale. It has been reported that 1000 people will try to storm the Whitehouse if and when Trump wins. So sad . . .
Our polarized nation is ripe for a civil war; however it seems the left is more motivated to use guns and violence than the right. Most Americans just want peace tranquility, and freedom to live their lives the way they desire, but history has taught us that throughout our nation’s history we must sometimes fight the forces of evil in order to protect our peace and freedom.
Someone called my wife and asked her if I had plenty of guns and ammo at the ready in anticipation of impending election related riots. She answered affirmatively and then they asked if I would bring a couple of rifles over to their house.
It’s funny because they always gave me the impression, I was just a redneck with too many guns and dead animal heads hanging on the wall. I imagine the first time a brick is hurled through their window they will wish this redneck was there protecting their family from harm’s way. I doubt they even know which end of the gun the bullet comes out. This is not the case with those who would brutalize them given half a chance.
Many have hoped that after the election today we could get back to normal, but it is being reported that the Dems want to delay the declaration of the winner as long as possible. (If Trump wins that is; if their candidate wins, I’m sure they will give it a full-court press.) My point is, however, that the riots and violence will likely continue for some to come and will undoubtedly be even more intense.
Some friends departed the keys the other day to go home after their vacation and left a note quoting world-renowned songwriter Irving Berlin stating: “Until we meet again. – “‘The song is over – But the melody lingers.'” I thought of that note this morning as I braced myself to endure whatever comes next in our divided land as the rancor most certainly will linger on both sides.
My contention has been all along that if President Trump is re-elected it will be because the Lord wants to give us another chance to repent and turn to Him. If my feeling is coming from the Holy Spirit, and I believe it is, all of creation could rise up against President Trump and he will still prevail because of the mighty hand of the Lord. So whether we get another chance to get behind a leader who can actually accomplish something good, or God’s patience has run out will soon be determined. I believe part of our judgment will be turning to socialism and communism will soon follow and disaster will follow that as it always does.
In either scenario we as Christians must be willing to accept His reprieve or His judgment. If the End is near, I’m ready. If not, I want to keep working for the Lord. I’m okay either way because if God is for us then who could stand against us – How about you?
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.
