It certainly was refreshing to observe Easter Sunday. We need a break from all of the bad news. The 911 disaster is still fresh in our minds.
The Middle East is exploding in war and terror. The Catholic church has paid out a billion dollars in the last decade because of homosexuals and pedophiles within the priesthood. Enron’s management team looted the company, the company collapsed leaving hundreds of thousands penniless.
There are wars and near wars in Afghanistan, the Philippines, Africa, South America, Iraq, North Korea, and many other countries. Earthquakes and other natural disasters including drought and famine are plaguing the world. One out of every five people in Africa has AIDS. The world lives in fear and dread of Anthrax, Smallpox and other biological weapons. The Bible predicted this and indicates that it will continue to get worse and worse and worse. It will get so bad that if it were not for God stepping in and putting a stop to it, the world would destroy itself with its wickedness.
Aren’t you glad we have Jesus. One day soon He will return for us and remove us far away from the trouble that haunts this world. Thank God for sending Him to die on the cross in order that we may join Him. In this troublesome period of time we must keep our eyes toward Him and maintain our faith. Do not be discouraged or afraid, but remain steadfast knowing that these things were predicted and are going to happen. Jesus loved us enough to die for us and He is not about to let anything or anybody snatch us away from Him.

Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
according to His abundant mercy
has begotten us again to a living
hope through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead.
In this you greatly rejoice,
though now for a little while, if
need be, you have been grieved by
various trials,
that the genuineness of your
faith being much more precious
than gold that perishes, though
it is tested by fire, may be found
to praise, honor, and glory at the
revelation of Jesus Christ,
whom having not seen, you
love. Though you do not see
Him, yet believing, you rejoice with
joy inexpressible and full of glory,
receiving the end of your faith –
the salvation of your souls.
