Many of us are going through spiritual warfare right now and Satan is filling minds with uncertainty and fear. I received this e-mail yesterday and it is indicative of the mounting pressure.
“Pray for us in this time of need. I have lost almost 90% of my money in the stock market and don’t know how to tell my wife. I wish this nightmare to end and for things to go back to normal. Please pray for us.”
Many folks are scared silly that they are going to lose everything and indeed that they will die. I’m not trying to diminish the threat from the virus, but it is not killing as many people as the ordinary flu and odds are if you get the virus you will survive. From what I’ve read it is a particularly nasty type of flu and I am avoiding people at every opportunity because I don’t want it, but caution is one thing and outright fear is another. I’m not Nostradamus but I predict that when the virus has run its course and this is over, (and believe me it will come to an end), things will get back to normal. Stocks like Delta, Apple, hotels, cruise lines, etc. will soar. I don’t look at my investments because I know it is a bloodbath right now; however the smart thing to do is just wait and be patient. Worry will not end it one moment earlier, so why waste time on it. Our nation will rise up and resume its former place as the world’s economic powerhouse and the media will move on to the election. There is a demonic spirit of fear being spewed out of Satan and his demonic horde that will do everything in their power to keep us down and out, but The Lord will prevail.
I wish everyone could have faith like my dear sister in Christ in Houston. Her attitude in times of crisis in inspirational. This is the letter she sent me this week.
Dearest Bob and Teresa,
Please pray for my sweet Dad, Georges who is being operated on right now at St Luke hospital in Houston. It all started last night: I could tell his right side of face looked different. He began to drool. He saw people in the room talking to them when I was alone with him. Then his French was incoherent at times. He was laying on the couch, but his right arm and right leg were motionless . . . I gave him a children’s chewable aspirin then I called my closest sister in Christ asking her to pray following with another call to 911. First MD Anderson ER they saw through an MRI there was a blood clot, so they suggested another hospital trip and they sent us to St Luke where they do these types of operations
Amazing hospital personnel who just showed up for Dad. Very calm, so friendly, caring, so fast in their preparation in getting ready . . . I’ve been praying for God’s will only, not mine for even though I LOVE my Dad and would want him near me forever I only desire what my Lord and Savior wants . . .
Thank you so much for your prayers. Love you both very much.
Love America
Love Texas
God Bless you and this AWESOME land of ours!!!
Feeling so blessed!!!
Wow! I was stunned when I read this e-mail. Please join me in praying for her and her dad. This woman immigrated here from France. She became a United States citizen the legal way. She started in a low-paying job but went on to obtain a higher paying job through hard work and her wonderful attitude. She has been reading Words for the Day for many, many years and I have received e-mails throughout telling me of her triumphs and when she suffered tragedy. Through it all she has maintained the attitude displayed above. She gives God the credit through the good and bad times. Her father lives with her and only speaks French. She studied hard and became fluent in our language and reads Words for the Day to him daily. They are so very close it is heart-breaking to see her go through this, but her deep faith is getting her through it.
When she prays, she displaces a gracious thankfulness and love for her Savior. Jesus will get her and her father through this fiasco in the manner He desires. Her last sentence states the summation of her desire and it should be ours as well. I only desire what my Lord and Savior wants . . .
I suggest that we take some time to reflect on this and pray about it today. Trust the Lord and believe. He loves us and doesn’t want anyone to suffer. Now is the time to put on the full armor of God. The belt of truth, Breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the Gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit – The word of God. This is where she derives her power and it is the same for all Christians!
It all begins with salvation.
- Do you believe Jesus died for your sins?
- Have you confessed those sins and asked for forgiveness?
- Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God?
- Do you believe that He died for your sins on a cross and rose again in three days?
- Are you willing to change your ways and make Him LORD of your life instead of the world?
If the answer to those questions is yes, then I have good news for you. You will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus where there will be no suffering, tears, grief, and no worry.
Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
