Everyone should have a “Life’s verse”. This is a verse in the Bible that has special meaning to us. It is one we should commit to memory.
If someone asked you to sign their Bible, your life’s verse could be referenced below your signature. I have recently adopted a new life’s verse. I believe if we could obey this verse, all of the world’s problems, (including mine), would be gone like the wind.

My life’s verse involves placing our trust in the Lord. Yesterday on the plane ride back to Atlanta, I listened to the relaxation therapy channel through the headsets. A soft soothing female voice told me repeatedly to relax and let myself go. It was terrific; she told me to relax my fingers, then my toes. I heard birds chirping in the background, then whales singing their underwater tunes, waves pounding the beach; all accompanied by beautiful background music that almost made me visualize butterflies and birds floating through blue sky. (If the blasted pilot had not kept interrupting, I’m sure I would have been completely hypnotized and fast asleep).

It was nice to allow myself to be soothed into relaxing and forgetting all stress and tension even for a brief moment. I thought about how God wants us to do exactly the same thing. I’m going to try and buy that CD, but I realize that soothing music accompanied by a soft voice is not enough. Just as I trusted in that pilot to get me safely home, even more so I should trust in the Lord to get me safely home. I need a pilot to direct my paths and my Father in heaven is He.

You are welcome to memorize my “Life’s Verse”, or pick out one of your own. Memorize it, repeat it to yourself often. You will soon begin to enjoy the advantage of having a “Life’s Verse”.
