Life is full of worrisome things. Health, finance, relationships, war, terrorists, final exams, death and taxes, every facet of our lives lends itself to worry if we allow it. The Bible condemns worry and Jesus Himself talked of it often in the Bible. He said it does no good, in fact it is harmful and of satan. I would wager to say that more average Christians are guilty of disobeying God about worry than most anything else in their lives. They may not attend wild sex orgies, but they sure worry about every little thing that potentially may happen. It is one of satan’s most effective tools in preventing us from having the relationship with God that we desire. God wants us to turn over our worry to Him. This is not to say that we are not involved with the problem solving process. God gave us a brain and other resources and we are to use them. For example, if someone has a serious health problem, we should not just say, “well it is in God’s hands, I’ll just let Him handle it”. Instead we should seek out the best medical advice available and follow it. This may mean going to several doctors and studying the Internet intensely to find the proper physicians and treatment and then following their advice to the letter. Once we have done everything that we can do, and have fully utilized the resources that God has given to us however; then we should sit back and relax and not worry for at that point it is truly in God’s capable hands.
Admittedly, this is often easier said than done, primarily I believe because we do not like the fact that we are not in control. Before progress is made in this area, we must face the fact that we are not in control of anything. We are in God’s hands and there is nothing we can do about it. The very air that we breath is under HIS control, not ours.
We are one heartbeat away from eternity at any given moment. We are now and always have been in God’s capable hands. That is a good thing, because God loves us more than we can even envision or imagine, and He has vowed to protect us according to His perfect will for our lives;
(Important: Note that it is according to HIS perfect will for our lives, not OUR imperfect will for our lives). He demonstrated that love by sending His only Son to die for our sins and shortcomings in order that we might live.
He has a huge interest in you and in me. With our limited intelligence it is hard to understand how God can be everywhere at once and know everything including all of the individual people on earth’s innermost secrets and needs, but take a look around the universe as we know it.
Watch the sun set this evening and take a look at the stars and the
immensity of the universe. It is hard to imagine possessing
intelligence enough to create everything, but He did it. To assist you with fighting worry, study the Bible and what it has to say about worry.
(Just look in the back of the Bible in the Concordance under “worry” and every passage will be spelled out for you.) Learn to put your trust in God and not just yourself. Read a dollar bill if you have to, it
states: “In God we trust”, follow this sage advice. God made many promises throughout the Bible and He has never broken one. He has assured us that He loves us and will take care of us through thick and thin FOREVER! I feel better already, how about you?

Romans 8:38
For I am persuaded that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
