Don’t you just hate it?

I tried to watch the evening news last night and finally in disgust just turned it off. It seems that all the politicians want to do is tear each other down. Monumental serious problems abound and all they worry about is trying to gain the upper edge in an election that is two years away. They must think that people are idiots, particularly the Democrats, because they just mindlessly repeat the party ideology and often it is not even plausible. I have always watched the news religiously, but I think I am going to just stop watching it entirely.
I know people that do that and they seem to fare OK. I once had an administrative assistant that did not even know if Bill Clinton was a Republican or Democrat. Incredulously I asked her if she ever watched the news and she said no. “What do you watch on TV when you get home from work?” I asked. “Andy Griffith”, she replied…At least this person would not be concerned about North Korea, Iraq, Osama, Enron, or Al Sharpton running for President. With her it is all about Opie, Barney Fife and Andy. Somehow this sounds more attractive.

This world has seen turmoil since we were banished from the Garden of Eden. Several thousand years ago in Psalms the question was posed, “Why do the nations rage and the people plot vain things?” Today, I am no different than the Psalmist. I do not understand it. I guess it is just the nature of the beast who controls the world in which we live.
It will continue right up until God comes back and removes him from our presence. There is no reason to get all pent up about it, because the day is coming when our problems will finally be perfectly resolved.
Join me, and quit watching the news and let’s go fishing!…(I just cannot watch Andy Griffith, fishing seems more attractive.)

Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of

Forever.
