Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, Elijah Cummings in leadership roles controlling powerful committees will all become a reality in January. Prepare for Congress to investigate and forego legislate. They have made their intentions clear and now they will get the opportunity to deliver. $5.2 billion dollars were spent on the mid-term campaigns and with that comes debts that must be repaid.

Prepare yourself for congressional investigations, gridlock, partisanship, and rancor to rule the House as never before. Hopefully the economy will not revert back to the whimpering stagnant cesspool it was, and the Democrats in Congress will not be able to increase taxes and otherwise undo the good that has transpired over the past two years as they now openly move towards installing a socialist regime.

Thank God the Senate remains in Republican hands and judicial appointments of judges who love our constitution can still be made which should help ensure religious liberty, 2nd amendment rights, and other rights that liberals would love to take away.

As you can tell I was keenly disappointed. I’d hoped that history would be wrong on the midterms and we would retain the majority in both the Senate and the House. In the end their voters turned out big time and our side not so much. It was predicted to be a huge blue wave and ended up being a ripple, but it was enough to allow them their bully pulpit.

So we are a polarized nation and neither side wants to collaborate or even be civil. It is a recipe for failure of a nation in my mind. I pray that our country will be strong enough to fight its way through the hate and bitterness on both sides. We have many enemies in this world and a united front is needed. Americans have always risen to the occasion when threats have been made and hopefully, we will again as time marches forward.

I’m sure Democrats are disappointed that they didn’t have their blue wave and take the entire Congress as much as Republicans are disappointed in losing the House. As I think of the Bible as relative to elections in the United States these days I’m reminded of this Scripture.

James 4:2

You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong – you want only what will give you pleasure.
