The Bible states that we must have faith. Some take this to mean that faith is simply believing in God; however the Bible states that faith without works is “dead”. Are you dead or alive? The Bible states in James 2:19,
“You believe that there is one
God. You do well. Even the demons
believe and tremble!
But do you want to know O foolish
man that faith without works is
dead?
Take a moment right now wherever you are sitting and ask yourself an important question. Where are my works? Do you have any? If you are “alive” in your faith, you can answer this in a positive fashion. Do you witness to others? Do you tithe? Attend church?Study the Word of God? Pray and THANK the Lord for what He has done? Care about and help the poor and downtrodden? Or, do you primarily just care about yourself and your “works” are primarily centered around yourself and the things that pertain to YOU, albeit you believe that Jesus died for your sins? The fair and objective answer to that will help reveal whether you are dead or alive. (Are you just skimming through this? Or, are you seriously considering this question as it pertains to YOU? – Take a moment to think about this important aspect of your life.)

James 2:24
“You see then that a man is justified
by works, and not by faith only”…

Believing is the first step. Faith is made perfect in works, which is the next step. Start making your faith perfect today. Work for the Lord. His salary and benefits far outweigh the temporal rewards that we receive from other endeavors. Be alive in your faith!
