More and more people are getting into trouble due to credit cards. I know of several right in our company who are mired deeply in debt because of credit cards. Credit cards are readily available and bring instant gratification. It is a simple concept, you see something that you want and you buy it.
Is it as simple as that? Unfortunately no, the gratification is short-lived. Soon the consequences of your weakness will be realized, high interest and hopeless debt. Often the price one pays for their lack of discipline is bankruptcy. The smartest thing to do is to cut up those credit cards. If already deeply in debt from them, develop a strict budget, sacrifice like crazy and work your way out one day at a time.
This serious problem reminds me of sin. It looks great on the surface; however, when we begin to pay the price, it is not what we thought it would be. The consequence of sin is often devastating… Aids, divorce, suicide, guilt, jail, loneliness, misery, death to name a few. It isn’t what satan portrays it to be. Turn from sin to Christ.
_______________
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
