It is sometimes difficult and lonely being a CEO. Although I have the most wonderful staff in the world, and every year they take a larger burden off of me, I still have to make very difficult decisions on occasion. Some of these decisions can literally make or break our company and often there is no real clear answer as to how best to proceed. When faced with difficult decisions I often wish that I had someone who I could go to for advice. I think we are all in that same boat at some point in our lives.
There is someone who we can always go to. Many ignore this resource because of the perceived difficulty in getting direct answers. The resource is our Lord and our way of expressing our questions and problems for which we need help is through prayer. There is no substitute for prayer. The Lord tells us to come to Him in prayer and the Bible guarantees that God hears everyChristian’s prayers. I have learned to trust in the Lord. Often the answer does not come right away. Be patient, this does not mean that God does not hear you. He just has not answered yet. Sometimes we pray for things that are not in our best interest. I have personally experienced this numerous times. The answer to those prayers will be NO. Accept it and move on. Sometimes the answer is yes, but it might be in some ingenious way that we would not have imagined in a million years. This will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck in the form of spiritual goose bumps.
Take it from this old grizzled up grey-headed soul who knows first-hand, God is our best advisor. He will answer our prayers, we just need to carefully listen to the answers and have unfailing faith. The old adage of God giving us two ears and one mouth indicates why we need to listen twice as much. I do not make any major decision without praying about it. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. I pray throughout each and every day. Try it right now wherever you are sitting. Takewhatever problems, or questions, or tough decisions you have to our loving Father, and have faith in God and his infallible Word that the perfect answer will come to you.

Jesus loved to give us everyday examples. One such example pertained to persistent knocking on a door. What was Jesus trying to teach us?
