The other day I was having some work done on my house and several construction workers were present. One in particular used the foulest language that one could imagine. Every sentence contained curse words and bad language.Later he started telling a dirty joke and a couple of us just walked away and would not listen to it. He followed us down the dock repeating the “punch line” several more times incredulous that we were not laughing at his joke. Finally I said to him, “I am a Christian. I’m not trying to be rude or a hypocrite or anything, but I just do not want to hear this stuff”.

I asked this guy if he believed in God. He said that he did. I asked if he attended church, he said that he did not. I asked if he were to die right now if he thought he would go to heaven or hell. He did not hesitate, he looked me in the eye and said, “I think I would go straight to Hell”. I asked, “Do you want to go to Hell?” he replied, “No, but I cannot seem to do what I know that I need to do”.

How manyfeel the same way? Do not ever underestimate the power of satan. In fact I believe that most people do believe in God and Jesus. I believe that they know what they need to do, but just will not submit to God’s authority over their own. Some, like this fellow, seem to realize the consequences they face, yet are unwilling to do anything about it. I just will never understand the short-sightedness of some people. Life is short, but eternity is forever. The Bible tells us that we will face judgment one day.Hell is an everlasting place of torment. Go to church Sunday and make peace with the God who loves you. Get your mind and life upon the things of God. You will benefit in this life and forever.
