Many agnostics will allow you that there may be a form of intelligent life out there, but scoff at the notion that a personal God directs our walk through this world. Having been an agnostic at one time I understand them and their belief system well. The problem with agnostics, atheists, and many others who struggle with faith is that they base their faith in themselves, in human logic and their own intelligence. When I encounter one in an airport or restaurant or wherever, I ask them what they base their various theories on and invariably it comes down to nothing. They just believe what they believe because they have a hunch that life just happened and life just evolved like finding a Rolex watch in perfect working order on the plains of Africa where it just evolved through billions of years. Ask them how it all just jumped together and they get a little fuzzy. Some scientists jumped on this bandwagon, but as of late more and more have completely abandoned such theories and admitted to super-intelligent design of the universe and life. Science proves what they set out to disprove, namely that our universe and life as we know it could not have been an accident. It had to have come from intelligent design of a higher being. (Dont know why they cannot just say God created it all.)

Fortunately Christians have the Bible in which to base our faith. If the Bible could be proven wrong, we would all be in trouble. Fortunately instead of being proven wrong, each new archeological dig proves it truth more and more. Even this is predicted in the Bible whereby it states that even the stones will cry out for the Lord. I am fortunate in that regard in that I have a PHD archeologist in my Sunday School class who each week gives fascinating archeological updates of new finds to the class that verify the Bibles authenticity.

If you ponder whether the Lord is a personal God who is with you always, search the Bible. Even the hairs on your head are numbered. Jesus knows you better than any created thing and will be with you throughout eternity. Does He intervene in our personal lives? Yes, He does, He loves you and if you will let Him He will actually direct your steps. Im glad too, because he helps me make it through the night and the day. Chances are he will not shout out instructions from a burning bush, but you will certainly feel His gentle pull, just like the oceans tide.

Proverbs 16:9

A mans heart plans his way,

but the Lord directs his steps.

How well do you know the bible?

How old was Abraham when the Lord made His covenant with him?

Genesis 17:1
