Would God be a Democrat or Republican?

Jesus Christ was someone who would not conform to the politics of the day. He was hated by the leaders of the temple. The Roman authorities were interested in keeping the peace in an occupied land and Jesus was making waves. The zealots would have loved to have had Jesus help them wage war against Rome; however Jesus was not interested. I was wondering the other day what God thinks about our modern day political arena. What if He had decided to manifest Himself in the flesh in todays world. Would Jesus line up on the side of Republicans or Democrats?

This is a silly exercise because Jesus would not have come to America, but lets pretend for a minute. I vote Republican because that party comes closest to trying to maintain core Christian values and decency; however even it is woefully inadequate. Democrats led by the Clintons seem more interested in tearing down values and adopting Hollywoods anything goes lifestyle, and I honestly do not see how any Christian could support their platform.

Jesus stated with complete authority that we should center our lives around the Ten Commandments, (I assume that would include posting them in government buildings and having children memorize them in school) Jesus adhered to the premise that we should pray without ceasing, abortion is wrong, homosexuality is wrong, drinking alcohol to excess is wrong, having sex before marriage or committing adultery is wrong, lying is wrong, that divorce is wrong, worshipping any God other than the true God including Allah or Buddha is wrong. Our society including Democrats and Republicans would label Jesus an intolerant, ultra right wing Christian fanatic. Jesus would not be welcomed by either party. He wasnt welcomed in His day either. Jesus said these things and the worlds response was to crucify Him. The Bible states that the world loved darkness more than light.

We all have decisions to make. We can love sin and darkness or we can love righteousness and the light. The majority does not welcome the commands of our Lord and Savior in this present age. There is an important choice far greater than Republican vs. Democrat that affects our eternal hopes and dreams. We must choose Jesus or satan. Unfortunately, the Bible states that the path that leads to salvation is narrow but broad is the way to destruction. There is no room for tolerance; no room for Buddha, Allah, the multitude of Hindu Gods and idols; the path to salvation ONLY goes through Jesus Christ. Follow the crowd, or we can take the sometimes unpopular stand of following Jesus. The choice is ours…

John 3:18

He who believes in Him is not

condemned; but he who does not

believe is condemned already, because

he has not believed in the name of

the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation,

that the light has come into the

world and men loved darkness

rather than the light, because their

deeds were evil.

How well do you know the Bible?

The Bible equates reaping the consequences of taking fire to ones bosom, and/or walking on hot coals and searing the flesh on ones feet to what serious sin?

Proverbs 6:27-29
