An atheist was spending a quiet day fishing when suddenly his boat was attacked by the Loch Ness monster. In one easy flip, the beast tossed him and his boat high into the air. Then it opened its mouth to swallow both. As the man sailed head over heels, he cried out, “Oh, my God!
Help me!”
At once, the ferocious attack scene froze in place, and as the atheist hung in mid-air, a booming voice came down from the clouds, “I thought you didn’t believe in Me!”
“Come on God, give me a break!!,” the man pleaded. “Two minutes ago I didn’t believe in the Loch Ness monster either!”
Stories like this are humorous, but one day it will be for real and not so humorous. I talked with a man on the plane this week and the subject got around to what he thinks will happen to him when he dies. His answer was, “I honestly do not know”. I wish I could report that I convinced him to accept Jesus as his Savior and from that point on he could answer, “I’ll spend eternity in paradise with my Father and Lord, Jesus Christ. Unfortunately that did not happen. This has weighed heavy on my mind ever since. One day this man will face the solemn judgment promised to every human being who ever lived on this planet.
He, along with everyone else, will be forgiven and welcomed into heaven, or banished from God’s presence forever, depending upon whether or not we have accepted Jesus Christ as our savior. Hell is a nasty place to spend eternity. Jesus described it often throughout the New Testament.
God does not want anyone to go there, and sent His Son from His heavenly throne to die on a cross to prevent it from happening to anyone. His work is done, we must do our part now. Only believe!

Matt. 12:36
“But I say to you that for every
idle word men speak, they will
give account of it in that day of
judgment.
For by your words you will be
justified and by your words you will
be condemned,”
Matt. 10:28
“And do not fear those who kill
the body, but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son that
whoever believes in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son
into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him
might be saved.”
