I wonder at the depravity of mankind. Now it appears that a few in our military have reached the same level as the people we are trying to free. Every day brings additional photos of Iraqi prisoners being treated in a disgusting and depraved manner, further revealing the sickness of the human mind. Saddams own prison is being used again, only this time by United States forces and not Saddams henchmen. Yes our soldiers have been murdered by these thugs, but that is no reason to sink to their level. When we reach that point, we are no better than they are.
Imagine what goes on throughout the world each day. We only see a small sampling, but God sees it all. Christ must be sickened beyond our wildest expectation. I can imagine Him shaking His glorious head in total disgust with hot tears streaming down His cheeks. I marvel that He can restrain Himself in order that more souls can be saved from the Day of Judgment that is quickly descending on this evil world. I cannot begin to imagine what the earth will be like when the Christians are removed during the Rapture. Fortunately for us, Christ has told us that the insanity that surrounds us is only temporary for us, and will last just for a brief time, as in a vapor that is here one moment and gone the next. We are instructed to focus on the reward that is soon to come and will last for eternity. A better time that Christ will usher in for all of those who love and adore Him.
When we are dragged down by the events of these last days of depravity and evil, we must close our eyes and imagine what is coming. It will be a wonderful day of rejoicing, a time when even the mountains will literally sing for joy and the trees will clap in harmony. Streets of gold are illuminated by the glory of the presence of the Lord. They will lead us by a crystal clear river of life. Emeralds and precious stones will adorn heaven and the mansions prepared by Jesus Christ for all of His children will be beautiful beyond comprehension. Our Shepherd will be none other than Jesus Christ Himself and we will live in complete peace and harmony. Eye has not seen nor has ear heard the wonderful, marvelous things in store for those who love the Lord. I feel better already, how about you?
Isaiah 55:12
For you shall go out with
joy,
And be led with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing
before you,
And the trees of the field
shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall
come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall
come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord
for a name,
For an everlasting sign that
shall not be cut off.
How well do you know the Bible?
There are seven things that are an abomination to the Lord. What are they? Can you identify with any of them in your personal walk?
