A young lady told me the other day that all of her friends drank alcohol and she did not want to participate, and/or even be around a bunch of drunks acting silly. I told her that none of my closest friends drink and that she could find friends like herself in church and Sunday school. Some people cannot have fun unless it involves alcohol. If you do not drink it is not fun being around those who do to excess. The Bible in fact instructs us not to have fellowship with those who are not believers. Our closest friends should be other Christians.
Fellowship with good friends is something we all need, particularly in dark days. If you do not have any close friends who are believers like you, find a church and attend Sunday school. One hint about finding a church that may help. The right church for you might not necessarily be the closest to your house. The word of God should be preached accurately according to the Bible. If the word of God is preached there, within its walls will be people just like you. You can find friends who enjoy the same things that you do and love the Lord with the same love that you do. And if you find an imperfection with that church, dont worry about it. No church is perfect, no preacher is perfect, and you are not perfect. God is perfect and His church is a place where we imperfect people worship Him…
Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the
unfruitful works of darkness, but
rather expose them.
How well do you know the Bible?
