Recently a long time subscriber to WFTD contacted me and thanked me for a recent WFTD that was particularly meaningful to her as she mourned the loss of her husband who recently took his own life. The WFTD she received dealt with how I cope with the tragic loss of my brother due to his committing suicide. What gives me goose bumps about it is that she is not an employee of Horizon and unfortunately anyone who is not an employee, cannot receive WFTD anymore and has not been able to for about a year. We have some weird technical problems that have been, and still are, preventing people outside the company from receiving the automated WFTD mailings. I have worked with our IT department and have tried to resolve it but to no avail. Maybe the computer thinks it is SPAM or a virus, but it will not let them through.
What gives me goose bumps is that she told me that she quit receiving WFTD over a year ago and thought I had quit sending them out until, “out of the blue”, she received this one particular WFTD dealing with my brother’s suicide. She received this WFTD on this one day and has not received one since! How could this happen? I know in my heart that God knew that she needed this message on this particular day and He resolved whatever technical glitch is causing it and let it through. She confirmed that the words of encouragement really helped her on that day as she dealt with her tragedy.
Recently I met with her and when we talked about this incident we gave each other a “knowing” look. No it is NOT just a coincidence. It is all right to believe that God intervenes in our lives. God loves us and demonstrates His love every day for each of us, sometimes in “mysterious” ways. We need to recognize it for what it is and thank Him for caring…God knows everything about us including our needs, but He also desires for us to come to Him when we are in need. My friend had been praying for comfort for her and her daughter and God responded and she was given some comfort on this day.
If you have needs today ask Him to deliver on His promise to help you and then have faith that He will deliver. He will even overcome computer glitches to help His children.
(In case you are wondering, yes when I see God intervening in such a clear-cut manner it does indeed make the hair stand up on my neck just to think about it.)
Matt.10:30
But the very hairs of your head
are all numbered…
