Several weeks ago, I wrote about seeing what I thought was a woman walking down the road barefoot. I felt compassion and rushed home to get some shoes for this person and I also threw in some socks, food, water, and money. When I tried to give it to her I discovered that “she” was actually a “he”, who with his long hair resembled a woman.

I talked with him for a few minutes and he smiled and said he greatly appreciated it, but he had all he needed and said he was going barefoot deliberately. So a couple of days ago one of my readers sent me this article with the headline: Man walking barefoot across America killed in Florida.

Baumer, MarcMy friend asked if this was the same person and unfortunately it was.

I was greatly saddened to learn of his tragic ending when a 51 year old woman accidently veered off the shoulder of the road and struck and killed him. Hard to imagine her not seeing him because he was dressed in a fluorescent vest, but no alcohol or anything was involved; it was just a tragic accident.

Marc Baumer was so young, and seemed so nice and pleasant. What a shame. According to the article he was 100 days into his barefoot walk to create awareness about climate change. Included in the online article was some video footage of him talking about his mission and a photo of his calloused feet.

I hope Marc had a relationship with Jesus and is in heaven at this very moment. No need to worry about the climate there. The Lord made us stewards of this planet and I understand his interest in trying to protect it. I’ve been to India and it was so smoggy I could barely breathe and burned my eyes and if I happened to be wearing a white shirt it would be covered in soot just walking down the street. For that matter I’ve been to Los Angeles and seen smog so thick it was stifling.

Unchecked big business would pollute the air, streams, and landscape, but some people really seem to go overboard. It seems extremists are the ones who dictate the debate. Sensible people try to be objective and hear both sides of an issue in order to determine and take reasonable action but are drowned out by the louder activists.

The same is true with the police shooting someone that did not deserve it. Objective statistics prove that, more often than not it is the police getting shot, but a few rogue cops do commit terrible crimes on occasion and need to be punished. But extremists wage war against ALL police even those who protect them daily at great risk to their lives.

I am disgusted with all the demonstrators against our new president as he fulfills his campaign promises. This weekend it was his ban on letting people in from seven of the most dangerous, terrorist filled countries in the world. Three hundred of 345,000 people were turned back. And yet to see and hear the liberal media and various extremist groups like CAIR howling they make it seem like we won’t allow Mother Teresa into our country. They are marching and screaming obscenities to high heaven. Ugh!

Extremists are running into each other marching for things like the right to kill unborn children, protest building pipelines, building a wall to protect ourselves, keep our horrible education system the same to appease teacher’s unions, and on and on. Madonna is shouting vulgarities and saying she wants to blow up the White House. Geez . . .

A question was asked in the Bible: Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? Often they rage against the Lord. I urge you to read the following article. Click Here

written by Jonathan Caan for an in-depth explanation of what is wrong in America and the danger that we face, but if you will not take the time, in short they rage because they have turned from or have never turned to God who is the answer to all we need.

If my feet weren’t so tender I might walk barefoot across America to bring attention to our turning away from God dilemma. We need to run to God where peace that surpasses all human understanding emanates. We need to ask for forgiveness and repent so He will hear from heaven and heal our land and settle us down with love.

Is God worried about His detractors? Is He concerned with political correctness? The Lord God shall not be mocked and some of these folks need to get a grip. We need to pray for them and this country.

Psalm 2:4

He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. In his anger he rebukes them, and in his wrath he terrifies them . . .
