I saw a video of one of my favorite musicians the other day, (Israel Kamakawiwo’ole – IZ), and he said something that was very profound. When referring to his music, he said that it yielded maximum pleasure with minimum effort. He went on to state that this was the Hawaiian way “Bro”, and then he laughed heartily. When watching a video of him singing, it is obvious that he is thoroughly enjoying himself and it does seem as if it is effortless for him to produce the most beautiful of songs. Undoubtedly he received maximum pleasure from producing his music.

Unfortunately, not many people ever reach this level of contentment in their lives. Most are like restless waves in the ocean. God wants us to receive maximum pleasure in our lives with minimum effort even during stressful times. How? Through Jesus Christ. If you are tired of being like the restless waves beating against the shore, then rest in the Lord. Too often we try to solve our problems and be happy on our own apart from God. It is a plan for failure. Apart from God we can find no rest and no contentment; the Bible plainly states that over and again. So, if you want maximum pleasure with minimum effort, seek the will of God for your life and then ask Christ to help you achieve it. Soon your life will be like a glassy lake at daybreak. No waves, regardless of whether things are good or have turned sour for a while.

Prayer can be a wonderful thing, if only you believe.

Phil.4:11.
Not that I speak in regard to
need, for I have learned in whatever
state I am, to be content;
I know how to be abased, and
I know how to abound. Everywhere
and in all things I have learned both
to be full and to be hungry, both to
abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me.
