Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we get the opportunity to thank God almighty for all He has blessed us with. I don’t know about you, but I have much for which to be thankful! Today is a super good day to get down on our knees and thank our Father for all that He has done.

I think back to that first Thanksgiving and there were no “Black Friday sales or other clever ways to make more money. From what I have read it was a simple celebration and a particular day chosen by early settlers to thank God for all that He has done for us.

Obviously,  not everyone is in a celebratory mood today. Some are facing homelessness, but even the homeless can go to any of the many missions around the country and get a nice hot turkey meal; I should know as I was afforded several Thanksgiving meals while homeless. Even more disconcerting is those of us who are facing serious sickness or injury. God can comfort you if you just ask Him to come into your heart and in most cases He has provided the best medical care, (but even poor medical care is far better than anyone abroad can obtain. Not everyone is afforded such care, but America has among the best physicians worldwide.

It is no small coincidence that we need to build a border fence to keep people out of our nation instead of in. I could continue on and on, but suffice it to say we are blessed to live in this great country.

There will be good food, football, and spiritual acknowledgement of our Lord Jesus for all with which we are blessed today, because the next thing we need to do is get down on our knees and thank Jesus for bestowing on us the best gift He could have blessed us, Salvation! Praise His everlasting name! Not just on this special day but every day . . .

Ephesians 5:20
“Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
