I read this morning where the liberal universe is burning up the Internet on Twitter denouncing calls for prayer for those in North Carolina and Florida. These posts are so disgusting and vile that I cannot even give you examples of what these lost people are writing.
The common theme is that those of us who believe in prayer are “dumb hicks.” Most are filled with expletives and the central theme is that praying was a waste of time. I can think of no better place to be than in church praying when my life ends, and I am called to face God. So, these “geniuses” think I’m a dumb hick for my belief system. In Romans 8 the Bible states: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “– For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord . . .
Those innocent lambs who were slaughtered by evil are with Jesus Christ at this very moment. My prayers are for their families, friends, and community that are left behind to grieve and mourn their loss. Those who had faith in Jesus Christ when they were murdered are with Him at this very moment in the splendor and the majesty of His glory and will never know sadness, death, sickness, tears, or grief again.
I pray that these miserable people who are so filled with hate will come to know the Lord, for if they die in their current lost state, they will not be allowed to enter God’s peace and joy. Unfortunately, the Democrats voted to ban God from their political platform. Anti-Christ sentiment is entrenched deep within that party, the Socialists, communists and others, but I say that just maybe they will come to know Christ. It is not inevitable that this segment of our society cannot experience revival and change.
While many scoff, I need only look at my own life to prove that there is always hope, even for the vilest of sinners. We cannot lose hope regardless of incendiary and blasphemous behavior. Though they are filled with hate and bitterness and a lack of joy, Christ can change all of that. So, whether these folks want my prayers for them or not, I am praying for them this morning. I ask you to do the same.
Hebrews 4:14
Therefore, since we have such a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.
