As of late, I have been practically lamenting life itself, and concentrating almost solely on the ugly things of life. A daily bombardment of bad news from the media tends to make us focus on the dark side of life. I was wondering yesterday why Satan gets all the press. I was talking to someone about painting and how much I enjoy art, and it made me think of how beautiful the world really is. Artists are really tuned in to this phenomenon as they really appreciate things like sunsets, flowers, tropical fish, you name it and try their best to emulate some small resemblance of the beauty that is displayed by the master artist, Almighty God. There are no small number of subjects of which to paint or sculpt. We are surrounded by beauty and the wonders of the world are truly breathtaking. We just need to focus on them.

God created far more beauty than ugliness in this universe. We are not privy as to the exact reasons that He even allows darkness and ugliness in this world, but I do not believe that we should allow it to drown out all the good and beautiful things that surround us.

Perhaps we should all call or write our TV stations and tell them that we want them, at the very least, to give equal time to the good things in life (Good luck with that). I mean after all who really wants to hear all that is wrong with life? Imagine newscasts whereby everything good that happened today is announced to the world right there alongside, (or instead of), the murder, mayhem and terror . . . How about some exposes on what is good and noble and beautiful in this world? What would that do for the economy and stock market? When you think about it, there is far more good than bad, we just never hear about it. The world just tends to focus on the bad and the ugly and the good gets lost in the mix. I know that the media will never change . . . even if we write. That does not mean that we cannot individually fight this battle. Start today and try looking for the good things of life; you will not have far to look . . . It is all around us!

Jesus Christ comes to my mind for starters!

Psalm 100:4
Enter into His gates with
thanksgiving,
And into His courts with
praise.
Be thankful to Him and bless
His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all
generations.
