It is easy for Satan to get someone in a funk. They worry and work themselves into a depressed state. This morning my wife and I were discussing Parkinson’s disease and I told her that it was in my family, and I might get it some day as well. She was concerned and I told her that I didn’t care if I got it or not. It was determined before I was ever born when I would be born how long I would live, and in which manner I would die. God can and will intervene as he did with my brain surgery, but even His intervention has been determined.
Some say if everything has already been determined then what is free will. There is a big difference in knowing something and orchestrating it. I don’t dwell on this, and am content to just go through my life’s trials with confidence and optimism (even when it really hurts}. I know that just ahead is light and I will be delivered from the darkness.
There is an old saying, “Ahead of every shadow there is light”. I adhere to that philosophy and live each day with enthusiasm and, (amazingly), without worry. I advise anyone to try to remember this little saying and then importantly try your utmost to do it. It will require faith in almighty God, but is that so bad?
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
