2024

I thought with the advent of the New Year my wife and I had turned the corner on the health situation in our lives. But both of us were diagnosed with COVID last week and it has taken a toll. Last year was not kind to us health wise with rotator cuff surgery, 17 ulcers in my stomach, and liver problems; Teresa had vascular problems and various arthritic ailments, but it all seemed to go away right before the first of the year,

Not since several years ago had she and I been so sick, her with breast cancer, four pulmonary embolisms, chemo, surgery, and radiation and with me having cervical fusion on C2- through T1 discs in my neck followed by Hepatis C and 3 months of chemo had we been so inundated by health problems This last year was very unkind in the health department too.

So, it is understandable that when I recovered from rotator surgery, and other maladies and Teresa found a good doctor for her vascular problems that we were quite joyful. We moved into our newly completed home and felt that 2024 would be our year of rest and the Lord was going to give us a break on the trials and tribulations for a while.

Boink! Wrong! Neither of us have ever had COVID and we did not realize how sick it made us. We are not spring chickens anymore and recovery has not been as fast or easy as hoped, but we are both making good progress and I expect by next week that we will be getting back to normal.

Through it all we have remained steadfast in our faith. We prayed every day not just for ourselves but for others, especially those people in Israel and elsewhere who are suffering and for others suffering health and other problems. God hears our prayers, and the Holy Spirit is with us every second of every day. He brings the rain, and the beautiful sunshine and life is comprised of both. As for us we pray that 2024 will be a great year and we will enjoy every second of it, (yes even the days of COVID). Either way we have faith that it will be a good year, trials, and all.

I pray for each of you that you will obtain the peace and joy my wife and I know. It is all about having faith and we vow to remain faithful until the day we die.

Revelation 2:10
Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Do not fear what you are about to suffer . . .
