It is concerning that so many people in the highest places support communist China, a country that wants to destroy our society using any means available. Moral compasses are thrown out the window by many and the only sense of value seems to be lining pockets with communist cash.
As I scan the news I see so called “influencers” touting anything and everything that will make them a fast buck. It is to the point where honest opinions are all but non-existent. The only oral communique I ever received from God was given when I was on a deer stand in Georgia several years back. I was by myself and had not seen any deer, so to make good use of my time I began fervently praying. Suddenly I heard a voice that distinctly said three times:
“The world is ruled by money!”
To this day I have no idea why this was said to me. At the time I was amidst founding the Jesus Alliance, but I could not understand how I could use it to benefit that organization, other projects I was working on, me personally, or any reason whatsoever for it being said to me. It is truth, pure as gold, today as it was then, perhaps even more so today.
God is so mysterious it is kind of spooky to me. I waited all my life to hear directly from God and then receive a message that I cannot understand how to use. It does explain why so many things happen in the world but using that as practical information to solve a problem is lost to me with my shallow intellect.
Many folks in the world, especially those who have made significant money chase power. Have you ever wondered why people vote for them? Take Donald Trump for example. Otherwise, God fearing folks, like here in Mississippi seem to idolize him. They overlook his mean-spirited ridicule of people, his foul mouth, his disgusting narcissism which borders on insanity, his lack of morals, and other traits which are the diametric opposite of what they stand for in their churches and individual lives. It is a safe bet that they wouldn’t be friends with someone like him on a personal basis because he is so profane.
So why? Why is he leading in the polls? I believe people are putting aside their values to follow him because he was a good president and worked wonders with illegal immigration, defense, and most importantly the economy. No one with a smidgeon of objectivity would deny that. So, are we trading our values for prosperity? Do we dump God’s laws in exchange for prosperity?
If it came down to a race between Biden and Trump, I would hold my nose and vote for Trump. It is the lesser of two evils; however, if I had a choice of some God-fearing capable person such as Governor DeSantis who has similar ideology on issues such as Trump, but without the childish bully negatives I would drop Trump like a hot rock.
But that is just me. Personally, I do not think a man or woman can get us out of the mess we are in. God and adherence to His laws is the answer for which we all long. Satan has been given dominion over this world. Included its’ money and since it “rules the world”, so does he. Satan wants to destroy us even more than communist China and if ordinary folks exchange their values for his money we can never win.
This reminds me of the legend of Robert Johnson. Many people say famed blues musician Robert Johnson, shown below, was a terrible guitar player and a worse singer.
Then he disappeared for a while and some say he went out one night to the crossroads of two highways in the Mississippi Delta. The legend says he stood at the crossroads for a long time. At exactly midnight, a large man dressed in black appeared. Those who believe the legend say the man in black was the Devil.
Robert Johnson begged the Devil to make him a talented musician. The Devil agreed on one condition. The Devil promised to make Robert Johnson the greatest Blues musician in the world in return for Johnson’s soul. With little thought, Robert Johnson agreed.
Shortly thereafter when Robert Johnson reappeared on the Mississippi Delta music scene, he was a talented Blues musician. He could sing, write music, and even play the guitar! In fact, when Johnson played, people swore they heard TWO guitars. Audiences would look around, searching for the second guitarist. Who was playing with him? No one ever saw the second guitarist, leading many to believe the Devil himself was playing alongside Johnson. Others believed Johnson was somehow able to make his one guitar sound like two. He died at the age of 27 and today is still known as the greatest blues player that ever lived.
We all want to be prosperous and achieve peace in our lives. The way to obtain it is not to exchange our souls for it but to stand up for our values and for God. Wrong is never right and right is never wrong no matter how big the payday.
