What a great time our family has had over the past few days. There were twelve of us and five dogs. It was quite a jolt to my wife and me and our quiet lives. Our grandsons were playing football in our huge front yard and the twin girls were playing badminton in our back yard. Then all four of them played badminton. One of my sons was fishing and catching big bass out of our pond and I was teaching the other to drive a tractor and skid steer, (Bobcat). Some of our female flock played Yahtzee and talked, and my sons and one grandson even managed to get in a hunt. All of us played with the dogs who seemed to enjoy the holiday more than any of us.

Yesterday my wife and her sister cooked up a nothing short of a Thanksgiving feast. Those liberals that shun this holiday don’t know what they are missing, and I feel sorry for them. We talked very little politics which as pleasant, and even if we had, we are essentially on the same page politically speaking. There were no squabbles or arguments, and these precious days were enjoyed by one and all.

I have one all-important word for our Lord and Savior, Thanks!

I don’t know why God has blessed me and my family the way He has, but I can truly say I’m thankful and I love Him more every day. I start each day thanking Him and praying for others to sign up for this good life that He so willingly gives to us free of charge. The interesting thing about it is that my deep enduring love for Him is not even a blip on the screen of life compared to His love for me and everyone on this planet. If only we could get through to those who have little to no use for Him.

I hate to see my boys and their families leave and look forward to driving over and seeing them sometime around Christmas for another joyful time together.  I wish we lived closer together, but it sure makes it special when we do get together. I hope your holiday was every bit as good as ours. We must look to God for the kind of peace we seek and that the world cannot offer.

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
