The midterms are over and yet we still do not know which party won the Senate or the House. By most accounts, it is a toss-up. At any rate, the Red Wave became a Red Trickle, and most people are blaming Trump as one of the main reasons that people were turned off, and in my opinion for good reason. I just don’t believe that most people are willing to listen to his self-serving- mean-spirited – foul-mouthed rhetoric anymore. I used to support him, and I believe he did more for the country than most any President, but with the onset of Covid and the lockdown seeing him day after day trying to take credit for anything positive and blaming the bad on others began to grate on my nerves. He is so-o-o-o enamored with himself as to be nauseating.
DeSantis, on the other hand, has a great degree of humility and his agenda is every bit as desirable as Trump’s’ and I believe he is just as smart. I have lived in Florida and seen first-hand what he can do for our country. He doesn’t spew poisonous hate and brags about himself like Trump which is a welcome relief. It will be interesting to see if Trump will try to destroy the Republican party if he is challenged in his bid for President. Or should I say it will be disgusting to watch as he spoils our chances?
I was among many religious leaders who went to New York, and I had an entirely different opinion of him at that event. Franklin Graham and others witnessed to him, and he was as humble as pie when he spoke to us. I believe the Holy Spirit was on that man. None of the braggadocios was present and certainly, none of the nastiness and name-calling he has become known for was evident.
So, what happened? Was his humility and talk of his new-found love for Christ just an act? Or was it real and it was a case of Satan luring him away from it after he got elected? It is not for me to decide. I pray for him and ask God to restore him. In the meantime, Biden has pledged that he does not intend to change anything. No red wave – no change.
During my prayer time with my wife yesterday, I mentioned to God that I am at peace with this election because He did not intervene and that indicates that he has ordained that it should play out the way it is playing out. I despise the Democrat platform with its transgender, abortion, migration, big spend, energy deficient, antichrist, policies; however, I accept that it must occur. We are living out the Last Days now and the Bible tells us it will get worse before it gets better, and Jesus returns to straighten out this mess.
Jesus told us to be of good cheer for He has overcome the world. Don’t be too discouraged my friends this is not our home. It seems that every day we are slipping into the minority and are despised for following the Bible’s commands and Jesus. Pray for those who revile you and for what you stand and don’t take it personally.
