So tomorrow we go vote and all the attack ads and rhetoric for congress will subside only to be replaced by the nasty presidential election fighting with its disgusting attack ads and lies. That war of words will last two long years. I would love to see Ron DeSantis get the bid for Republicans and not Mr. Nasty – Donald Trump, but there are many who overlook his character in favor of his business acumen. I wonder who will get the nod for the Democrats, I suspect that clown Newhouse from California.

I’m praying for the predicted “red wave” to pound the shore and flood our country. I’m under no illusion that the red wave and/or the presidential election will actually solve our country’s problems but getting rid of the worst of the evil will make life more tolerable for sure.

There is too much money and power on the line to avoid corruption. I tried to watch the movie chronicling the fall of Jerry Falwell Jr. on Hulu last night. It was incredible how far he and his wife fell. She began having a sexual affair with a pool boy they met at a hotel in Miami with the stipulation that her husband Jerry Falwell Jr. could watch. Their sexual fantasy was exposed, and they fell far/fast in utter disgrace. Egad! It was so disheartening to see Christian people act like they did that I had to turn it off and quit watching.

I believe Jerry Falwell Sr. started out with good intentions but when he and his son built it into an empire and began taking in $100 million a year in contributions and millions of Christians voted as a block for whomever they selected with their “Moral Majority”, it gave him and his son unprecedented power and enabled Satan to gain a firm foothold on them. They became very powerful and were courted by a steady procession of politicians including Donald Trump. The power they felt and the money they made was intoxicating and I suppose that after they sampled all the things that power and wealth could provide and when they couldn’t get any more thrills from those avenues, they turned to wickedness to the Extreme.

Yesterday I bought a mega lottery ticket. The jackpot is over two billion with a drawing tonight. Like all suckers who buy tickets, I was wondering what I would do with all that money if I beat the 292 million to 1 chance of winning. Having made significant money as a businessman in my younger days and going through a mini version of having a small fortune and being tempted from every angle and beating it back, I feel that this time around I would make the right choices but make no mistake that kind of money and power can ruin lives. Just look at those who have fallen to its mighty grip with multiple divorces, addictions, perversion, and despair. I’m not sure I would be up to the daily struggle against temptation that vast wealth brings.

I have reached a point in my life whereby material possessions and fabulous wealth has near zero appeal to me and I much prefer the simple life. I do, however, love Jesus and I want to see lives saved in this world, and having a vast fortune could help with that task. I know that politicians, the rich, powerful, famous, and beautiful people would open the welcome doors for me if I were to win that kind of money, but they are not the answer to making my dreams come true.

The Bible states that Satan is beautiful and created higher than any of God’s creatures. He is powerful and was given authority over the entire world. He is the opponent and Christ is the Answer and is our Savior. So don’t be disheartened if decency wins this election round but nothing noteworthy changes afterward. These men and women face a formidable foe in what Satan has to offer. Most cannot handle the temptation that Satan brings to the table, and I don’t envy those who will enter that battle, but those who are legit I applaud.

This is not to say our case is hopeless. Just look how many lives have been saved since the conservative Supreme Court ruling against abortion, (10,000 in Texas alone in a very short period of time). Good leadership and those with strong character can make a difference. We are told in the Bible to keep fighting and run the race as though we are going to win. And the Bible states we will win in the end.

2 Tim 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
