So, hurricane Ian is hurtling its way towards Florida. The cone keeps being moved as weathermen adjust it daily. It is obvious that no one can accurately predict where it will hit. Indeed, it is often referred to as the “cone of uncertainty”. I find it amazing that will all the hundreds of billions of dollars spent here and internationally on weather-related technology with top experts working diligently that weather forecasts are not accurate.

Even genius and renowned physicist Stephen Hawking who had 12 degrees acknowledged this dilemma stating, “One can’t predict the weather more than a few days in advance”. His observations of the intelligence level of our “scientists” are quite revealing (and rather humorous):  “I believe alien life is quite common in the universe, although intelligent life is less so. Some say it has yet to appear on planet Earth”.

Advances in science demonstrate the reach of human logic and imagination and its limitations. However, a Christian’s belief in science should never be like our belief in God. A Christian can have faith in God and respect for science, if we remember which is perfect and which is not. A Christian should embrace science that seeks the truth but reject the “priests of science” who put human knowledge above God, (and there is no shortage of those who try).

We of course are not equals with God, though some seem to believe that. The Bible tells us that while it is true, we are higher in the glory and honor level than other creatures inhabiting this planet, we are not mini-gods Psalm 8:5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.

Isaiah 55:8 tells us about our level versus God’s: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts . . .

I believe that most scientists earnestly look for truth but the trend for wildly exaggerated claims of imminent death from climate change, and so on often are derived from money and politics. I saw a cartoon one time where two cavemen were in a cave holding their brand-new invention, (the bow and arrow). One was asking the other if he thought it might be the reason for the excessive rain they had been having since its discovery.

I read about an old farmer who was legendary in predicting the weather. His secret was to observe his cows daily. Word got around and a television station complete with doppler radar and instant access to the world’s top weather data challenged him to a contest. The farmer won hands down. Bawah-ha-ha-ha

God bless our scientists and all their discoveries. I for one would not be alive today were it not for some of their exciting discoveries in the field of medicine. Our civilization especially here in the United States is far advanced but woefully short of the Lord. We should put our faith in Him and His holy word the Bible first – If something like gender change for example comes along, consult with God and put your faith in His word and not the pseudo-intellectuals who desire to be the woke darlings of this world and base their conclusions on lies and distortions.

Ecclesiastes 8:17
Then I saw all the work of God, that man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. However much man may toil in seeking, he will not find it out. Even though a wise man claims to know, he cannot find it out.
