The following post reached some 2,159,206 people when I sent it out several years ago. Of the 247,076 people who reacted, negative feedback was a little over 350.  I thought I would rerun the post I originally sent out today for your perusal.

Think about the content of that meme for a while. I’ve been studying the Gospels lately and it is like a cool breeze on a hot day. Being bombarded by bad news every day tends to wear me down. Lately, I’ve been looking for ways to find ways to lighten things up and the Gospels are a good place to find it. There are those who have made it their lifelong goal to stop Bible study; however, that effort will never succeed.

There is a hunger for the word of God, and it cannot be quenched. As the world sinks to new lows and offers no hope – the more desperate people are to find hope. Jesus was followed by huge crowds and today His ministry continues through the Bible.

There does not seem to be much hunger for God or His word in Hollywood. The 70th Annual Emmy Awards kicked off with a remark from co-host Michael Che where he explained that his mother would not be watching the show on Monday night. “My mother is not watching,” Che said. “She says she doesn’t like watching white award shows because you guys don’t thank Jesus enough.” He continued, “That’s true. The only white people that thank Jesus are Republicans and ex-crackheads.”

Later in the evening “Westworld,” actress Thandie Newton clutching her Emmy blathered, “I don’t even believe in God, but I’m going to thank her tonight.” The following verse came to mind after reading about the Emmys:

Mark 8:36
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?

All the Emmys, fame, and money will disappear like the morning fog when these folks close their eyes for the last time. How I wish they would obtain a Bible and just enjoy what God has done and gain hope for what will be done for all of eternity for those who love Him. Pray for these lost souls . . .

Mark 7:20
It is the thought life that pollutes. For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, arrogance,
2 million people and Gods wordand foolishness . . .

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
