I can hardly believe it – Friday is already upon us – Seems like we just had one. Time is racing by and quickly moving towards its own demise. I get a small inkling of what that is like because time is not so important to me anymore and I rarely even know what day it is. They call it “island time” down here in the Florida Keys and no one seems to be in a big hurry. We have all heard the expression fast as a New York minute, but down here it is slow as a Florida Keys minute. I prefer the laid back mellow approach to life these days.

This morning I studied Psalms chapter 75 for our Bible study. My commentary in part: Today’s read was written by a righteous man thanking God for His righteous judgment. (Only a righteous person made righteous through Christ could fully appreciate judgment) This chapter speaks to the fact that God is in control even when everything seems to be falling apart. We need to understand this important point as we watch the Democrats dismantle everything good and wholesome about our country. We can be assured that the wicked will feel the full weight of His wrath, (full cup of wine,) and will drink it when He no longer waits for people to repent. A day of reckoning will surely come and I for one don’t want to be on the losing side.

The death of time will be fully experienced when we shed these mortal shells and enter into timeless eternity as immortal creatures. The question is will we spend that time with the Lord in heaven or be separated from Him and live in hell.

Many people I know take a short-term approach in life. They are living for the day and their lives center around making more money, acquiring more material things, and other temporal things that we simply leave behind. Looking past the 80-100 years or so we might live on this planet and thinking of the timeless enormity of eternity gives me perspective on what I should be doing with my time.

Yesterday I gave my testimony and some business advice via zoom to some young businessmen in Dallas. I began by telling them that the most important thing I could ever tell them is to put God first in their lives. He must come first, ahead of family, career, health, friends, hobbies, material possessions and so on. We should be involved with Kingdom work. How you interact with people on God’s behalf affects eternity; you will never be able to discern where your influence stops
or if it will.

John Milton once said, “Death is the golden key that opens the palace of eternity.” Do you look forward to “the palace of eternity” with great anticipation? Or are you dreading it because you have not repented? It is not too late to come to Jesus but time as we know it is dying just like we are.

Psalm 75:2
When I choose the proper time, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved.

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
